Dr. Sanjib Sarmah

Dr. Sanjib Sarmah graduated with the MBBS degree in 1987 from Assam Medical College & Hospital under Dibrugarh University. He then completed a postgraduate Diploma in Gynaecology & Obstetrics (DGO) in 1991 from Guwahati Medical College under Guwahati University. He commenced his career as a medical professional in the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology from 1991.

Dr. Sanjib Sarmah established the JJ Memorial Hospital in Dibrugarh in partnership with his father, the late Dr. Harendra Nath Sarmah, who was a respected teacher and a successful clinician of north-east India serving as Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology of the esteemed Assam Medical College & Hospital in Dibrugarh.

Dr. Sanjib Sarmah currently holds the post of Chairman cum Managing Director of JJ Memorial Diagnostics & Hospitals Pvt. Ltd. He enhanced his knowledge and skills in his field of specialisation over the years by undergoing professional training at renowned institutions in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai in subjects such as ultrasonography, gynaecological endoscopy and infertility management.

Dr. Sarmah is a keen participant in group discussions on a range of medical topics with clinicians in his peer group. He regularly initiates community healthcare programmes for the underprivileged in society so that medical services are easily accessible to them. He is always ready to provide advice and assistance to NGOs and SHGs for their welfare programmes whenever called upon to do so.

In his spare time Dr. Sanjib Sarmah likes to read mythology books on and listen to old Assamese, Bengali and Hind music. His goals are to serve ailing humanity, lift his organisation to new heights and work for the good of the nation as a responsible citizen.
